Mixing dangerous amounts of espresso and computers
I have updated my FOH once-a-day Rebooter utility to now have the FOH terminal run a, "chkdsk /f", during the reboot cycle. I always wanted to have a way to periodically run a chkdsk on the FOH terminals to ensure the hard drive is in good shape. Now we can! The program is in the file library, search for, "FOHrebooter".
I loved my Palm Pre. It was a great improvement to the Palm brand. But, I really hated it's inability to work with email servers that used SSL certificates. And, the keyboard was a little cramped. Other than that, the phone was great. I now have a Verizon Droid. Ok, this phone does freakin everything you could ever dream of. The keyboard is much larger, but I need to learn how to use it as I am mispelling everything on it. Overall, I like this phone more than the Pre, and really appreciate the larger size -It's actually comfortable to hold because it is larger.
I realize I haven't done much with the Aloha POS information here lately. I just visited a site that has a forum for Aloha POS and it reminded me of how much bad information is out there. I've updated some information inside MegabyteCoffee for Aloha information, and will work this week to finish a couple of programs I've started. I'd really like to have others submit files and information to my site. If you have any files, programs or documents that you believe others can benefit from, post it here! I want to even have my email list sever work for the Aloha forum we have here if we can get a few more people posting.
No, I am not talking about something computer related, but people driving vehicles. I've made an observation that seems to be true every single time. Next time you are driving, and you see another vehicle cut you off, or not go when the light is green, using a turn signal in a turn only lane, reading while driving, or just being inconsiderate on the road in general, check for crap hanging from their rear-view mirror. I've noticed that practically everyone who hangs crap such as CD's, necklaces, high school tassles, toys, or any other junk from their mirror (Parking tags excluded), seem to be the ones causing all the problems.
Spent this past week visiting relatives back home in Indiana. Still have another week off before I have to return
to work. I go back for a few days, then it's Thanksgiving. I scheduled this vacation perfectly. Maybe I'll finish
a couple of POS side projects.
Just for fun, I used my Palm Pre to spot me while I was on the airplane earlier waiting to depart back to Texas.
Not exactly perfect, but not bad -The other waypoints have been dead-on.

The Palm Pre has become my all-time favorite phone/pda. Of course there is one gripe about the phone that totally pisses me off.. The phone sucks at accepting a self signed SSL certificate for email. No way to get it to work with a self-signed cert. I know, why not get a signed cert, but long story short, the mail server we are using cannot accept our new cert until we upgrade it and so we use the self signed cert. If you use a self signed cert, you are screwed. My way around this was to install and run a smtp relay server. No, I am not telling anyone the info on how to access and authenticate with it.
At the beginning of this year, we switched from Vexira as our antivirus product to Kaspersky. Kaspersky is a very
thorough product, and, with that said, let me give you three reasons why I would recommend Kaspersky over the previous product:
1.
2.
3.

Ever get tired of the same people constantly sending you one stupid chain letter email after another? This is what I would love to see anyone that uses email have to read.

It's a Grind Coffeehouse in Keller, TX. Where MegabyteCoffee goes for coffee or tea! Always great! Stop by! We may be there.
